The Baldr Experiment: Chapter 3 - The Mission

Updated: Dec 8, 2025

Mission Possible: Taking My First Step

Clay-style figure in a black stealth suit suspended by wires, reaching for a glowing tech box, with a dog (Suzie Dog) on their back playfully covering its eyes.

I accepted the invitation—so now it’s time for the mission.

The objective? Build my very first game using Baldr. No coding experience. No budget. Just a story, an idea, and the curiosity to see if I could bring it to life. This wasn’t about testing software; it was about testing me—my storytelling, my creativity, and my willingness to take the leap.

If I listened closely, I could almost hear Ethan Hunt asking whether I’d accept this mission.

I did.

So I mapped out my plan:

Stage 1: Recon

Dive into Baldr. Explore what it can do—and what I can do with it.

Stage 2: Story Core

Strip everything back to the essentials. This is pure, old-fashioned storytelling.

Stage 3: Build the Foundation

Design the world where my story will live and breathe.

Stage 4: Character

Define how the player moves, chooses, and interacts within that world.

Stage 5: The First Build

Bring all the pieces together. See the story take shape.

Stage 6: Reflection

Study what worked, what didn’t, and what I completely broke along the way.

My goal? To prove that a storyteller with no coding background and zero budget can still build a game worth playing.

Mission accepted. Mission possible.
