The Baldr Experiment: A Strange Journey (ground zero, budget zero)

As they say in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, “I would like, if I may…to take you on a strange journey”.
One of creativity, curiosity, and the occasional “What does this button do?” moment.
It all began, not with lightning or mad science (though there was plenty of coffee fuelled chaos), but a thought, “How can somebody who has spent their entire life on the story side of games, not the technical side, create a game?”
I’ve spent years watching our incredible developers conjure worlds from code. I’ve helped shape those worlds through story – but I have never been behind the controls myself.
Then I discovered that the developers around me were asking the same questions and it turns out whilst they can program they can’t write story, can’t do graphics, can’t do sound so we were all in the same boat to tell stories but unable to do so.
Over the next few weeks, I am gonna try an experiment using Baldr.
I’m expecting discoveries, detours and the occasional dramatic monologue to my dog Suzie, when things go sideways.
The way my brain works is through film, the only way I can express my life is by relating it to film so I will try to explain how I am doing by referencing film.
I genuinely don’t know where this journey will take me, I will tell you, warts and all, this is my no BS story, so grab your popcorn, time is fleeting, take that step to the right and follow me to find out what happens next.
