(Where it all begins…)
For years, I worked in a game studio, surrounded by brilliant developers who could conjure entire worlds out of nothing but imagination, code, and caffeine.
I’ve always known I was a storyteller. But even though I was part of the team, I never quite felt like I belonged in the team. While the developers worked their technical wizardry, I was the one handling storylines, writing dialogue, shaping ideas - and yes, also making the tea, doing the pizza runs, managing accounts, marketing, scheduling meetings… you get the idea.
The Shift
Then one day, something changed.
I was working alongside John and Tim, the tech wizards behind The Time Plague. As I watched them work, I started to understand what they were doing. The logic behind the code began to make sense. Their conversations, once a blur of technical jargon -started to sound like a language I could finally speak.
And in that moment, something magical happened.
I realised I wasn’t standing outside the circle anymore. I was part of it.That’s when my Hogwarts letter finally arrived.
Discovering the Magic
I wasn’t overwhelmed or intimidated by development anymore. I felt connected to it - part of the creative spell. With that new confidence, I helped John and Tim create something we now call Baldr.
Baldr changed everything.
It opened up a new kind of magic - one where storytellers, designers, and dreamers don’t have to wait for someone else to bring their ideas to life. Where we can build worlds, not just write them.
A New Chapter
For the first time, the magic isn’t locked behind lines of code — it’s in our hands.
So this is just the beginning. Follow me (and my loyal familiar, SuzieDog) as we set off on this new adventure to see what happens next.
