Rivendell Isn’t Where You Give the Burden Away

The others didn’t arrive because I asked them to carry the story for me. They came because I needed it to be seen.
Up until now, this had been a narrow road. A handful of companions. A weight carried quietly, carefully, so it didn’t trouble anyone else. But if the story was going to be done properly, not rushed, not broken, not shaped by fear, then it couldn’t stay private anymore.
So I let people in.
Not to fix it. Not to lead it. Just to understand what it really was.
Some came because they care about the work. Some because they could see where it was heading. Some because they know that what matters most deserves to be understood properly.
Merry and Pippin treat the whole thing lightly, as if joy itself were a form of protection.
Strider listens, steady as ever, saying little, making space.
SuzieDog stays close, unimpressed by the scale of it all, certain only that no one should face things alone.
The others bring questions. Different angles. Different stakes. Not because they want control, but because they want the story to be right.
Nothing has been decided yet. No paths chosen. But the shape of what comes next is already clearer. This isn’t about finding someone else to do it. It’s about making sure that when the road continues, it does so honestly…and with open eyes.
